UNDERGROUND MINING PRODUCT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Travels in the field to perform training for both the dealer network and end users regarding the safe operation, application and maintenance and repair of all NPK/Paus products.

  • Travels in the field to perform repairs of all NPK/Paus products as needed.

  • Assists in the investigation, mediation and resolution of service, operation and repair issues related to the NPK/Paus products.

  • Test the repaired equipment for proper performance.

  • Visits dealers and end users on a regular basis to continue to foster a strong relationship between NPK/Paus and these entities.

  • Participates in NPK/Paus demonstrations.

  • Participates in the testing and monitoring of test units in the field, reporting the results to the engineering department as required.

  • Deals with situations and individuals that are in distress due to issues with the NPK/Paus products, possibly caused by non-NPK/Paus factors. Resolves these issues in a positive manner. 

  • Assist in providing input on warranty decisions with the product support manager.

  • Establishes and maintains a communicative, coordinated and cooperative relationship with all other functions within the organization.

  • Documents communication with dealers and end users using NPK service log system.

  • Recommends product and process improvements with NPK corrective action system.

  • Obey all MSHA and site safety rules.

  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • 5 years of experience troubleshooting and repair of construction and or mining equipment, diesel repair, hydraulic and hydrostatic experience, and electrical experience.

  • MSHA Underground Certification preferred

  • MSHA Electrical Card preferred

  • Red Seal Certification

  • Basic knowledge of Windows based programs

  • Travel may be required with very short notice—some being international.

  • Ability to speak English and French required.

  • Located near a major Canadian airport preferred
